If you are looking for respite care for the elderly, we can provide excellent care for an elderly person to enable the usual carer to get a much needed break.  Rather than the elderly person leaving their familiar environment to go into a care home for a period of time, they can remain in their own home and maintain their normal routine. The family carer can go away knowing that their loved-one is receiving all the care they need and that there will be someone there at night to provide that often-needed reassurance.

Respite care for the elderly includes all the usual aspects of our service including assistance with bathing, washing, dressing or other personal care needs, as well as cooking, shopping, companionship and assistance with usual activities and interests.

A need for respite care for the elderly person can also arise when a family carer is taken ill. In these circumstances we will step in as soon as care can be arranged and a care plan drawn up in order to enable the elderly person to be cared for whilst the family carer receives their own treatment. Sometimes this can arise where a couple are involved, where one is normally caring for the other, and Convivium Care may be able to provide support and care to both of them.
