Registered Carers

Clients and their families need confidence that carers have been carefully chosen and fully vetted.

Our care-givers come from a variety of backgrounds. Some have gained extensive experience in care work before they join us or have been in nursing, whilst others may have gained their experience through family caring. What matters most is that they genuinely care for elderly and disabled people and are willing to give of their best to promote the well-being and happiness of the people they care for.

Our carers come from various parts of the world. Many have had different careers before they came into caring. This brings a diversity and richness of experience to their relationships with their clients.

Carer Checks

Before a person can work with us as a care-giver we go through the following processes:
  • An initial telephone discussion, which, amongst other things, assesses communication skills, care experience, and right to work in the UK
  • A detailed application form from the applicant which assesses their predisposition for caring as well as their personal information and work history
  • The taking up of three references
  • A thorough interview and initial induction process
  • Criminal Record Bureau Enhanced Disclosure (including the ISA Adult First check)
  • Post interview induction process
  • Ongoing monitoring, support and supervision

Employment status

Care workers who register with Convivium Care are self-employed and are therefore responsible for their own tax and national insurance. They present a weekly invoice to their clients or designated representative, according to the fee assessed by the agency, and are paid by cheque.
